How I learned to help you

My name - Lech Mintowt-Czyz - is Polish in origin, but I am London-born and British. I have been a professional writer for my whole career. I started as a news reporter, meeting people at the most extreme moments of their lives and telling their stories. Then, for nine years, I was a news editor on The Times (of London).

I left journalism and became speechwriter to the CEO of Shell. Writing his speeches was just part of the job: I wrote everything he needed that had to be "just right" and I coached him to be a better speaker. My work made me a trusted voice in the company across communications, government relations, strategy and investor relations. Together, the CEO and I won five Cicero awards in three years - an unprecedented level of success in the "Oscars of speechwriting".

Since leaving Shell, I have written for, and advised, executives across multiple sectors, including energy, entertainment, aviation and sustainability. I have also worked with royalty and heads of state.

I love to help leaders say what they need to say, in the best way they can. I love to help companies stand out and land their messages. If you need writing that delivers results, I would love to hear more.

"Do not dismiss the potential of the right speech, delivered by the right speaker, in the right way, at the right moment. It can ignite a fire, change minds, open eyes, alter votes, bring hope to lives, and in all these ways, change the world."

Ted Sorensen, speechwriter to JFK
